The Severn Town Club’s 46th annual Holly Ball will take place on Friday, December 4th, 2009, at the Sheraton Hotel in Annapolis, Maryland. This outstanding charity event has enabled the members to support numerous non-profit organizations.
This year our major beneficiary will be Scholarships for Scholars. Scholarships for Scholars was established by the superintendent of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools in 1983 for the purpose of awarding scholarships to graduating high school senior scholars who are county residents attending public and accredited private high schools in Anne Arundel County. The scholarships are awarded each year to students who have demonstrated exceptional abilities in specific disciplines and who have also contributed to their schools and to the community-at-large. The nonprofit organization is administered by a Board of Trustees comprised of distinguished Maryland citizens. Funds for the scholarships are provided from interest generated by invested escheat funds from estates within Anne Arundel County and private contributions.
The Severn Town Club is entirely nonprofit. Members of the club tirelessly donate their time and talents to make our community a better place to live. This is possible through the generosity of individuals and businesses.
